Our Story

TLA (Transformation Leadership Academy) is a flagship program of the Mendem Foundation dedicated to developing the next generation of visionary, servant-hearted leaders across Cameroon. Delivered in partnership with Royalty World and Lead From the Heart—two dynamic leadership and development organizations based in Buea—TLA is equipping youth with the tools, character, and vision to lead from within. At the core of the training are the principles of self-leadership, empowering participants to take responsibility for their growth, choices, and influence. The program operates in three key sectors:

TLA for Schools

  • Leadership training and coaching for student leaders (e.g., prefects)
  • Character-building workshops and retreats
  • Partnership with school administrators to reinforce positive student governance
  • Mentoring and creating an army of mentors.
  • Creating long term positive bonds

TLA for Communities

  • Leadership bootcamps for youth groups, churches, and associations
  • Capacity-building for emerging leaders outside the classroom
  • Community service initiatives as learning labs for servant leadership

TLA Talks

  • Monthly or quarterly speaker series
  • Conversations with changemakers, alumni, and thought leaders
  • Digital and live events that inspire, inform, and connect
