Our Approach

Mendem Foundation co-develops, co-designs, and cooperates with the individuals and communities. We do not simply drop off care packages and move on. We have a team on the ground who travel/check-in regularly. Our outreach team takes time to understand the needs of the people and communities in which we work.

Mendem Foundation works with communities and individuals to identify their critical needs. Rather than develop a program and then introduce it to a community to address their needs, we listen to their needs before co-developing programs with them. It does not stop there. Our impact assessment team will stay in constant contact to ensure the programs are running efficiently, what improvements can be made, and how else we can help uplift the community. Our mentorship program means we can ensure sustainability.

Education

The foundation of any successful society is solid and effective education. Mendem Foundation is committed to supporting education by the provision of fees, books, and uniforms to children who would otherwise go without.

Period Poverty

Menstruation is not a choice, and the dignity of many girls depends on how prepared they are to receive this bloody monthly visitor. Our aim is to ensure no girl has to compromise their dignity to access menstrual hygiene products.

Social Development

Social Development in Africa is a multifaceted endeavor that encompasses various sectors and initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life for its diverse populations. Social development efforts focus on empowering marginalized communities, promoting inclusive economic growth, fostering good governance, and ensuring access to basic services. By implementing comprehensive policies, fostering partnerships, and leveraging innovative solutions, social development initiatives strive to create positive and sustainable change, unlocking the continent’s vast potential and enabling its people to thrive and prosper. The Mendem Foundation Social Development Program aims to address critical issues such as poverty, lack of access to education or quality healthcare, poor infrastructure, gender bias, andenvironmental unsustainability.

Economic Empowerment

With the ongoing crisis in Cameroon, many people are either unemployed or have lost their source of livelihood. The Economic Empowerment program aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to become successful entrepreneurs, and create sustainable income opportunities. By providing training, mentorship, and access to financial support, this program fosters innovation, job creation, and economic self-sufficiency. It not only enables individuals to realize their potential but also contributes to poverty reduction, personal development, and overall socio-economic development in Cameroon and across the African continent. Through these initiatives, individuals are empowered to overcome challenges, unlock their enterprising spirit, and become agents of positive change in their communities.
