Mendem Foundation is a charitable organisation founded in 2020 by a group of young men of African origin, specifically from Cameroon. We are alumni of Sacred Heart College, Bamenda, an all-boys boarding secondary/high school where we met in 1991. At a very early stage we learned to prioritise observing high moral values above all else, being genuine and authentic while remaining ambitious and fostering a strong camaraderie among ourselves. We were quick to learn that our origin had no bearing on our destination, and we spared no effort to carve a path towards achieving our individual aspirations. Over a couple of decades down the line, and building on our common vision, we are poised to harness our capacities for the good of the community – precisely the young who need a helping hand to be what they want to be. We all agree that social justice is justice indeed and the real way to achieve this is to help remove impediments to progress from the way of the vulnerable and needy.
